Visual Annotation of Clinically Important Anatomical Landmarks for Vitreoretinal Surgery
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a process to provide registration of preoperative images to live intraoperative microscopic stereo feed, overlaying landmarks on the video feeds to give surgeons more visual information during surgeory. This method does not run close to real time(150-300ms), but offers better accuracy than other registration methods. This process can complement faster methods like template tracking when those methods lose registration.

Timing and Outcomes of Vitreoretinal Surgery after Traumatic Retinal Detachment
Traumatic retinal detachments are a significant cause of morbidity. There are currently no evidence-based guidelines on the appropriate time to perform vitreoretinal surgery to repair a traumatic retinal detachment. Early intervention, within seven days of the inciting trauma, may decrease proliferative vitreoretinopathy and postoperative endophthalmitis. Later intervention may yield a reduced ...
متن کاملAnatomical Individualized ACL Reconstruction
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is composed of two bundles, which work together to provide both antero-posterior and rotatory stability of the knee. Understanding the anatomy and function of the ACL plays a key role in management of patients with ACL injury. Anatomic ACL reconstruction aims to restore the function of the native ACL. Femoral and tibial tunnels should be placed in their an...

Background and purpose: Digital radiography has led to many improvements in radiology. Despite many advantages there are different ideas in determining anatomical landmarks which results in some errors in cephalometric analyses. The aim of this study was to determine the degree of identification differences of anatomical landmarks by conventional and digital lateral cephalometric techniques usi...
متن کاملCommon Carotid Artery Bifurcation Levels Related to Clinical Relevant Anatomical Landmarks
For most of the large arterial vessels, surgeons can rely on a constant anatomy. In head and neck surgery, the common carotid arteries are important landmarks, defining the plane of the dissection during radical neck surgery (Ord & Ward-Booth, 1986). Conventional angiography is considered the most accurate technique for diagnosis of carotid bifurcation diseases, such as stenosis (Schwartz et al...
متن کاملValidation of anatomical landmarks-based registration for image-guided surgery: an in-vitro study.
INTRODUCTION Perioperative navigation is a recent addition to orthognathic surgery. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of anatomical landmarks-based registration. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty-five holes (1.2 mm diameter) were drilled in the surface of a plastic skull model, which was then scanned using a SkyView cone beam computed tomography scanner. DICOM files were imported into Brai...
